What Does A Typical Day At The Canine Club Look Like?
A day at the Heathrow Canine Club is thoughtfully designed to balance movement, play, enrichment, and rest — the kind of day that leaves dogs fulfilled, exercised, and happily tired by evening.
The day begins with hands-free arrival. Families pull up, remain comfortably in their car, and dogs are welcomed by familiar faces who know them well. There is no rushing or crowding — just a smooth, calm start to the day.
From there, dogs move through a purposeful rhythm. Outdoor time is active and joyful, with open-range play, running, exploration, and confidence-building games woven throughout the day. Dogs have space to stretch their legs, chase, engage appropriately with friends, and simply enjoy being dogs.
Indoors, enrichment takes many forms. Activities may include scent work, puzzle challenges, confidence courses, structured group games, and interactive problem-solving that engages both body and mind. These sessions are designed to be fun, stimulating, and deeply satisfying.
Each week, every dog enjoys a minimum 2-mile walk, offering focused movement, sniffing, and exploration beyond the yard — an important part of both physical health and emotional balance.
Midday includes a structured rest period, where dogs settle into their own dedicated indoor rest space to nap, decompress, or enjoy quiet companionship. This downtime is intentional and essential, allowing dogs to regulate and recharge before the next activity.
Throughout the day, dogs receive individual attention, including gentle brushing, one-on-one check-ins, affection, and care from a consistent team. And once a month the groomer comes! It's a spa day for sure with no additional fee.
As the afternoon winds down, dogs transition calmly before hands-free pick-up, returning home relaxed, exercised, and content.
It’s a full, happy day — structured, engaging, and designed so dogs leave ready for a quiet evening at home.
Is The Canine Club A Traditional Dog Daycare?
No. The Canine Club is a private, membership-based dog day camp designed as an alternative to large-scale or drop-in daycare. Dogs attend 5 days a week as part of the membership, allowing us to maintain a calm environment, stable group dynamics, and individualized care.
Many traditional daycare programs offer a base level of care with additional services available à la carte. At The Canine Club, daily enrichment, individual attention, movement, and structured rest are all thoughtfully included as part of membership — so families can feel confident their dog’s day is complete, not pieced together. The Canine Club is an all-inclusive service.
Our program is designed for families who value consistency, trust, and a higher standard of daily care — not interchangeable or volume-based services.
What Is The Cost Of Membership?
Membership at The Canine Club is $525 per week.
Membership reserves a full-week spot in our private, membership-only day camp and includes all standard daytime care during regular operating hours. This includes structured enrichment, purposeful daily movement, scheduled rest periods, hands-free drop-off and pick-up, and one monthly maintenance groom.
What Types Of Dogs Thrive At The Canine Club?
The Canine Club is designed for dogs who do well with routine, structure, and positive social experiences. We look for dogs who are comfortable in small group settings, respond well to gentle guidance, and can settle calmly during scheduled rest periods.
Does My Dog Need To Enjoy Playing With Other Dogs?
Yes. Dogs should be socially comfortable and non-reactive around other dogs. Play styles do not need to be high-energy, but dogs must be able to engage appropriately, respect boundaries, and coexist peacefully within a group.
Is There A Socialization Or Temperament Evaluation?
Yes. All dogs must complete a socialization evaluation prior to acceptance. This helps ensure that each dog is a good fit for our environment and allows us to thoughtfully curate balanced group dynamics.
Does My Dog Need To Be House-Trained?
Yes. Dogs must be fully house-trained and comfortable spending time indoors in a shared environment. This helps maintain a clean, respectful space for all members.
Does My Dog Have Their Own Personal Rest Space?
Yes. Every dog at The Canine Club has a dedicated personal rest space that is theirs alone and never shared.
This space is used during scheduled quiet periods and provides a familiar, secure place for dogs to rest and decompress.
Families are welcome to send a special item from home, such as a favorite toy or comfort item, if it helps their dog feel at ease.
What Behaviors Are Not A Good Fit For The Canine Club?
For the safety and well-being of all dogs, we are unable to accommodate dogs with aggressive or unsafe behaviors, including biting, snapping, or excessive reactivity toward people or other dogs. Dogs must be able to participate safely within a structured, group environment.
Do You Offer Short-Term, Trial, Or Flexible Attendance?
No. The Canine Club operates on a membership-based model with consistent weekly attendance. This structure allows dogs to form routines, build trust, and experience the greatest benefit from the program.
Do You Offer Overnight Care Or Extended Hours?
Yes. Overnight care and extended-day options may be available to active members offered separately, based on availability
Because The Canine Club is intentionally small and relationship-based, overnight care is offered selectively and only for dogs who are already part of the club and familiar with the environment. Availability may vary depending on schedule, staffing, and the specific needs of the dog.
We do not offer boarding or overnight care for non-members.
What Are Your Hours Of Operation And Drop-Off/Pick-Up Windows?
The Canine Club operates during standard weekday hours designed to support both consistency and flexibility for families.
Drop-off and pick-up occur within designated windows of 7:00am-8:30am and 4:30pm-6:00pm, allowing for smooth transitions and a calm environment for the dogs.
This structured approach helps maintain a peaceful rhythm throughout the day while still accommodating the needs of working households.
How Do I Apply For Membership?
Families may begin by submitting a Membership Application Request form. From there, we schedule a brief introductory conversation to ensure alignment, followed by a socialization evaluation for dogs that appear to be a strong fit.
